The inspiration for A Perfect Algarve Villa came from my own time spent soaking up the sunshine, Vinho Verde and abundant charm of Portugal. I moved with my husband and four dogs down to the Algarve in 2017, spent three fabulous years there, but decided to return home to Devon after lockdown.
I quickly discovered that beneath its glamorous façade and blissful weather, there’s a wonderfully chaotic side—full of unexpected mishaps and surprises, just begging to be turned into a novel!
With its sunny skies, friendly locals, and the odd brush with officialdom, Portugal proved the perfect backdrop for a light-hearted tale brimming with twists and turns.
This novel is my affectionate nod to the beautiful madness of living abroad. So do come along for the ride, and see how even the best-laid plans can unravel in the most wonderfully messy and ultimately uplifting ways!
